A 63 Year Tradition
I was so lucky to have this cute kid, with such a strong personality, come to visit me last week. This is Joel. He just turned 2, and today he is a Sailor! His suitcases are ready and he has his 2 favorite toy boats with him. Who knows what adventures he will get up to or the places that he will go. He gave me some super adorable smiles after a few bribes with 'gushers' his favorite candy.
So why a Sailor you ask? Legend has it that one day Great Grandad Steinke saw this very outfit while on a trip to Edmonton and just had to have it for his little boy. Since then, every male has worn it and had pictures in it, which includes; 3 sons, 5 grandsons and 4 great grandsons!! This sailor suit has been in this family for 63 years! WOW, that is some history! The even crazier thing is that there has not been any girls born...until now, and guess what? Grandma has already bought the FIRST sailor's dress.
