Welcome to the Family
In January, I was asked if I would like to be a sponsor for a contest the Town and Country newspaper was running for Valentine’s Day. The Contest was called “Celebrate the Love for your Pet’ and individuals had to submit a picture and text about how they love their pets. I said I would be happy to support it and on February 7th I was informed that the Stewart Family and their dog, Grizz Lee, had won. Congratulations to the Stewart Family for your touching submission! Upon contact, we have been waiting for good weather and time with the busy schedules of a family of 5, but we were able to coordinate our schedules this past week.
A few years ago, I had the pleasure of spending time with the Stewart family and getting to know them better. In fact, the location that we took pictures the last time was at the edge of the field where the Multiplex now stands. They were the last family captured there as now the fence has been removed and the Multiplex is in the background. It is amazing how time disappears.
On this occasion we visited Colleen’s parent’s home and I had a tour of past family activities and new memories that are being built there. It was really awesome! Unfortunately, the smoke was at an all-time high with the BC Forest Fires and the mosquitoes did not even seem to be deterred from several coatings of bug spray lol. But we had a great time. Grizz Lee, the new center of the family, was so content being carried around, following everyone and having treats – he was in his glory! I can really see how he has brought this family so much joy and help to fill a void after their previous dog of Fourteen years, Odie, passed away.
Congratulations on winning the contest and I am happy I was able meet Grizz Lee and see the new joy and memories with him as part of your family.
I have attached the article from the newspaper.
